Teaching phonics can be a rewarding process, but educators often seek engaging activities to enhance their teaching methods.
Introducing the Twinkl Phonics Suite app! This app offers a plethora of phonics activities suitable for children at various stages of their learning. Developed by a team of experienced teachers and practitioners well-versed in phonics instruction in both UK and International Schools.
The app is divided into five Phases, providing a structured progression path. Each Phase includes a variety of activities aimed at helping children acquire essential skills for reading and writing through blending and segmenting processes.
The Twinkl Phonics Suite comprises over 80 interactive activities designed for children typically aged three to seven. Activities range from phoneme boards for phonetic spelling practice to engaging games like 'Buried Treasure', focusing on distinguishing real words from nonsense words.
Here's a breakdown of the app's phases:
<ol>
	<li>Phase 1: Focuses on enhancing phonological awareness skills with activities like Describe & Find It, Which Instrument?, Which Animal?, Nursery Rhymes, and more.</li>
	<li>Phase 2: Features activities such as the CVC Word Game, Sound Buttons, Full Circle Activity, Word Wall, High Frequency Words, Captions For Reading, and others.</li>
	<li>Phase 3: Aids in learning additional letters and complex graphemes through activities like Alphabet Matching Game, Sound Buttons, Full Circle Activity, and Initial, Medial & Final Sounds Matching Game.</li>
	<li>Phase 4: Includes activities that make blending longer words and adjacent consonants enjoyable such as Sentence Substitution, Yes/No Questions, Real Or Not Real, and What's In The Box.</li>
	<li>Phase 5: Builds upon existing phonics skills with activities like Phoneme Spotter Stories, High Frequency Words, Sentence Substitution, Buried Treasure, and Three Right Answers.</li>

The Twinkl Phonics Suite is primarily aligned with the Department for Education Letters & Sounds Scheme while also complementing other phonics programs used in nurseries or schools.
To explore the app's phonics activities, you can download and try it for free using the Try mode. For full functionality, log in with your Twinkl subscriber account or purchase/restore an in-app subscription.
